Renewables are expensive ... Not!

Craig says:

"In making these net zero commitments the assumption has been that renewables, particularly offshore wind would become the bedrock of supply even though the real unit price for renewables can and never will match fossil fuel energy for price in the medium or longer term."

Really? According to a recent report: "Renewables were the cheapest form of energy in 2020." The costs of renewables are falling year-on-year. Over the last 10 years large-scale solar has plunged in cost by 85%.

Of the wind, solar and other renewables that came on stream in 2020, nearly two-thirds – 62% – were cheaper than the cheapest new fossil fuel, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Why does Craig and the Net Zero Scrutiny Group peddle falsehoods? Is there any connection with their funding by the fossil fuel industry?
